Pleco Adonis L-155

Plecostomus catfish, or plecos, are a specialty of Aquarium Fish Sale.  These catfish originate in South America. Since many colors, sizes, and patterns can be found, common names often aren’t enough to identify one pleco from another. So, in 1988, a tropical fish magazine in Germany called DATZ assigned “L” numbers to distinguish species. Although not scientific, the system works.

We carry a few plecos that have not been assigned their L number, but we are sure the Germans will get around to these eventually.

Most plecos do better with a little driftwood in the tank.

ADONIS PLECO L-155 is wild caught in Peru. AquariumFishSale imports what the fishermen catch, so size can vary from a body size of three inches to six inches. The size does not include the long streaming tail fin which is the hallmark of Adonis plecos.
