Crowntail Betta

The male Betta fish is a popular fish species that is loved by aquarium hobbyists. These fish have bright colors and long flowing fins and unique appearance. Crowntail betta fish or Siamese fighting fish, are a very popular breed with aquarium owners. The Crowntail Betta earned its name due to its unique tail fin design.

The webbing between the rays is significantly reduced, making the spikes appear more prominent and giving the tail fin a crown-like appearance.  Crowntails might look flashier than bettas of other fin types, but all betta fish require the same care. Feed your Betta fish food once a day, but don't give him more than he can eat in 5 minutes.  The best environment for the Crowntail Betta fish is a well-filtered aquarium that holds a steady temperature of between 75° and 86°F. We keep our live Betta in small bowls in our huge aquarium warehouse, but for best care, Betta splendens should be kept in aquariums of at least 1 gallon.

There are many names for the particular betta color patterns but most are variations of blue and/or red colors. Fish pictured here are representative only. If you are looking for a specific coloration, add a note to the order or simply allow us to choose one of our favorites for you!
