These are a wonderful schooling fish and in the wild are found in large schools numbering into the hundreds. This grouping has been described as a living curtain! Chromis do not form bonded pairs in the wild, rather several males and females will breed with one another. Males will prepare and guard the nest until the eggs hatch.
