Most rainbowfish are a group of small colourful fish found in the rivers and lakes of Australia and New Guinea. A few rainbowfish can be found in other parts of the World and one of these is the colorful sleek Madagascar Rainbow from France - just kidding - from Madagascar. Males have red in the tail and females do not, both both sexes have a nice color pattern an same size and shape. The wrong scientific Bedotia geayi name is often applied to this species but actually refers to a similar but nearly extinct species in Madagascar.
