Mascara Barb or Filamentous Barb
The mascara barb is also called the filamentous barb, though many believe these are separate species. Both look the same and share the same scientific name, so we just call them both mascara barbs.
The males get lacy colorful dorsal fins - hence filamentosa, and color highlites on the body that look like makeup - hence mascara. These barbs are rare and wild from India and seldom seen in the trade.
