The long flowing fins of the tiger barb, along with the natural active disposition of the aquarium species, makes this fish very suited to most community tanks that need some beauty and motion. The long fin tiger barbs will breed in captivity and most offspring will feature the long-fin gene. Barbs are mid-size schooling fish. Tiger barbs are slightly more aggressive than tetras and larger barbs can handle mid-size African cichlid tanks.
