Yellowtail Damselfish

Yellowtail Damselfish

Its coloring is very dramatic with a bright blue body and a yellow tailfin, but it will only reach about 2 3/4 inches (7 cm) in length. Depending on their location of origin they can also have a yellow pelvic fin and some may have yellow pectoral fins. Another damselfish it can sometimes be confused with is the Azure Damsel Chrysiptera hemcyanea, which is similar in coloring. The Azure also has the yellow fins but is distinguished from the Yellowtail Damselfish because the yellow also extends along the bottom part of the body.
