Collection: Tetras

Tetras are schooling fish so we recommend a purchase of at least four, and ideally six or more if the aquarium tank size allows. Remember the rule of thumb: one inch of fish per one gallon of water.

This aquarium fish family has a broad selection, from popular community fish such as neon and lemon tetras, to larger alestes tetras, strong enough to handle themselves in a cichlid tank. Most tetras in the fish trade, with the exception of congo tetras and alestes tetras, come from South America.
