The miurus puffer from Senegal are seldom seen in the trade and prefer live foods and will make a terrific pet fish, but a terrible roommate. These puffers can be kept in a larger species tank but keep them well fed or the miurus puffer will take bites out of the neighbors. As an ambush predator, in the wild or in the aquarium, the miurus puffer will dig itself in the silty or sandy floor and jump out to capture live victims. Miurus puffers can adapt to complete freshwater aquariums.
